Hoxton Park High School, in partnership with local primary schools, is proud to offer the Hoxton Science Initiative, a new and exciting Science program for year 4 primary students.
The program is designed to:
· Extend and challenge motivated students who desire to excel in Science and Technology
· Help transition students from primary to high school
· Complement the primary school Science program.
The program is delivered by qualified science teachers in Hoxton Park High School's new, fully equipped Science laboratories. With the emphasis on practical work in the laboratory, students will experience specialised Science equipment and expertise which is not available in primary schools. Students will also visit the school farm during some parts of the course.
At present, the Hoxton Science Initiative runs each Tuesday, with a different time allocated to each primary school. Each individual session runs for 1.5 hours.
At the end of the program, students participate in a celebration of learning where they will share their achievements with parents. Each student will receive a certificate of participation.
