Our unique and engaging critical and creative learning experiences provide an avenue to achieving strong academic and personal outcomes.

Creative Arts

Visual Arts is a valuable component of the Creative Arts Key Learning Area, providing our students with rich experiences within exciting subjects such as Visual Arts, Photographic and Digital Media & Creative Design.

Within our subjects, you have the opportunity to experience Visual Art forms such as painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, digital photography, graphic design, digital imaging and digital video.

In our faculty, we believe that our students are capable of great things. We aim to provide the structure and opportunity for these students to excel in the arts, develop themselves innovatively in the process and contribute to their school and community now and in the future.

Visual Arts students are students who can be challenged. They are students who think creatively and solve problems, are equipped for a variety of tasks and work with independence and initiative.

In the HSC Visual Art course students create artworks about their own ideas and from a media of their choosing.

Performing Arts

The Performing Arts encompass learning experiences in Music, Performing Arts and Drama. The Music faculty is an enthusiastic faculty that offers exciting and motivating opportunities within the classroom as well as within the school community. We enrich students with music theory and provide opportunities to develop performance and composition skills within the classroom. Opportunities also arise for students to practise their performance and composition skills in live music situations.

Students also engage in the Performing Arts and Drama courses offer young people an opportunity to develop knowledge, understanding and skills individually and collaboratively to make, perform and appreciate dramatic and theatrical works. Students devise and enact dramas and performances using scripted and unscripted material and use acting and performance techniques to convey meaning to an audience.

Each art form has its own unique knowledge and skills, elements or concepts as well as a capacity to inspire and enrich lives.

Students must study 100 hours of both music and visual arts during Years 7 to 10. They also have an opportunity to further develop their knowledge and skills in other art forms through elective subjects. Students can then select from a range of courses in Years 11 to 12.
