Course Description
This course is for students who wish to gain qualifications in the cookery sector of the hospitality industry. A range of kitchen functions and activities which require a range of practical skills is undertaken in various hospitality settings where food is prepared and served including restaurants, hotels and cafeterias.
Students who undertake the Commercial Cookery stream and are assessed as competent in the above units of competency will be eligible for a Statement of Attainment towards Certificate II in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations) (SIT20307).
Employability Skills learnt include communication, teamwork, problem solving, initiative and enterprise, planning and organising, self-management, learning and technology.
