Subject Selection Process
Subject Selection is an important part of Year 10. It is a time where students are given the opportunity to choose their subjects for Years 11 and 12 and plan for their career goals. At Hoxton Park HS, we provide students the chance to actively engage with the Career Adviser, Deputy Principal and Learning Support Team, so they are most prepared for this crucial process.
During Term 2, Year 10 students will have 4 weeks worth of preparation in their Career lessons. This will include:
- Career counselling
- Subject Selection guidance
- Expectations of Year 11 and Year 12
- Alternative pathways/subjects such as School based Apprenticeships/traineeships or TVET courses
Midway through Term 2, parents, carers and students are invited to our Subject Selection Night. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about specific subjects and how they can assist in future career pathways. After this, students are more than welcome to contact Miss K Ly for further consultation.
